Winter have arrived at last: snowflakes have fallen. Yes, I know that this is not snow, but I couldn't wait, so I rescued another Iceberg from my local Antarctis. This time as pure photo, not graphics...

One night each autumn there's a cultural night arrangement in Copenhagen, with lots of local events scattered around the city. This one was located just around the corner, so I went out to take a look...

One day I was passing Nørrebrohallen, which is a kind of multi hall, in case you didn't know. However, it's all physical activities, and I'm usually glued to the screen. I couldn't help notice a lot of multi coloured strings hanging outside, which even promised to expand further in the coming month. Here's some views from the beginning of the string project...

Glass or House

Some night photos...

Glass or House... Glass or House... Glass or House... Glass or House... Glass or House... Glass or House... Glass or House...
Copenhagen is an old town, more than 800 years, and the city looks accordingly. Almost all houses are build with bricks, or at least made to look as if. But here, in the middle of all these bricks, lies a weird exception; a house of glass, no walls only windows. I'm not sure if I would like all houses to be like this. But, as a single exception, that's okay...

Sometimes buildings are wrapped in various materials for various purposes; renovation or art. Not sure about this one, but sometimes I prefer an ocean of possibilities instead of a few boring facts...

The Sun and The Sky

These are almost photographs, and yet. The Sun was invisible - too bright, So I added it afterwards where it should have been. This may sound innocent enough, but in my opinion it's no longer a 'pure photo' - more like 90% photo and 10% graphic...

Modern Ghosts

Electronic Ectoplasma

Ghost

Modern Ghosts. People wandering around in our rooms, talking to themself, not to us. We can see them, but they rarely seem to notice us. They repeat their actions, again and again, and yet they think it's all new. But we know better, they are, for a ghost of reasons, doomed for uncertain time, to walk the light...

Circles within Circles

Cycloscopic - Circles within Circles

What is a super-cycle? Two or more circles combined. This may sound esoteric, but here's a really simple example: Imagine the Moon circling Earth, or imagine Earth circling Sun. These are examples of simple circle-systems. Then imagine standing on the sun, and following the orbit of the Moon; here we have two circles combined. We also look at a strange orbit, regarding the Moons velocity; Sometimes it seems to speed up, or slow down. Sometimes even stopping. Or even weirder, moving backwards? View more...

Order and chaos

Living image

It's all in your mind...

If you see a pattern moving right or left, up or down - it's an illusion. If you see a pattern starting ordered and gradually becoming chaotic, this is also an illusion. In fact, the pattern itself is an illusion...

Programmable Waterfall

Waterfalls have always existed, where nature (or humans) combine running water and sudden shifts of altitude; splash! Now this ancient phenomenon has been upgraded. Wow..!!! This is one of the ideas I wish was mine. But at least I can suggest a possible extension: Move from 2D to 3D! Instead of flat patterns or signs, why not objects moving in space? Imagine a cube falling down! By varying the speed of droplets, the cube could even turn while falling. If anyone has tried this, let me know...

Unlikely Patterns

Usandsynlige Mønstre

This story dates back to the 90'erne, and had half a dozen authors, myself included. Yet it appears as a coherent tale despite the many different pieces in the puzzle. Now republished by SFC, so we all can become nostalgic (at least I did). Carl-Eddy has added text to the cover I suggested. The motive is from the collection "Light Show".

Shapeshifting

Our screens are not only growing in size, but now the format is also changing (from 4:3 to 16:9). So I'm experimenting with the layout these days. Try changing the browsers width: down to 800 or up to 1280. See what I mean..?

Rice Art

Can you eat a picture, or grow a face, cultivate scenes? Is this a farmers field or a rural piece of Art? Yes and yes...

More amazing examples of "Rice Art".

Finally finished

At last the finished sculpture in its final position: Høje Tåstrup Recycle Station
The final recycle sculpture: Rap-en-skralde
Here's the Sculpture Gallery...

Back to Tåstrup

Sculptures cannot always be created in 4 hours. We had to return to add final details. Here's Mikalas mosaic:
Rap-en-skralde mosaic
Later the same day we had to realize that 8 hours wasn't enough either. So, next friday we'll be back for the third and final time. Here's so far...

Plants have a tendency to grow, even as seeds buried below. Even asphalt wont stop them. I was reminded recently, when I passed this overgrown place in northwest Copenhagen. It looked as if plants here had more or less erupted, perhaps at night when nobody looked...

Old counting machines

One late night I was wandering home, and passed a shop specializing in old things. 3 old counting machines were displayed, and I stopped and wondered: Old calculators were slow and inefficient, and they were large. A modern equivalent would be a microprocessor so tiny, that it was invisible to the naked eye. But, as the photos reveal, these old monsters were quite beautifull, nevertheless...
